I had an incredible meal at Jonah’s Seafood House and 2601 Oyster Bar. The seafood is top-notch, especially the calamari and the fresh oysters. The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. I also enjoyed browsing the market for fresh catches and grabbing a pastry from the bake shop afterward. Definitely a place I’ll return to whenever I’m craving fresh, well-prepared seafood.
Got to the location a bit early so walked around and enjoyed the scenery. Once open we were seated in a good Iocation with a good view. Our server was great and paid attention to our table as well as the others. Our food was fantastic and quickly served. I had oysters Rockefeller and my spouse had ahi tuna tacos. Everything was wonderful. Would definitely go back. And then after we stopped by the market and grabbed a couple of things to take back with us!
Celebrated our anniversary. The good is very good. But it is expensive. We have been going for years (10 years) the lobster and crab prices are about double. So we only go for our anniversary.
Jonah’s! It’s the quality that sets this place apart from other seafood spots. The Blackened Cod? Absolutely buttery — it melts in your mouth. And no matter what side you choose, you can’t go wrong. The King Ora Salmon was some of the most delicate, perfectly cooked salmon I’ve ever had. Honestly, it didn’t even need seasoning, but the extra flavor brought it to the next level. Do yourself a favor and give this place a stop!
We had our family of 10 in our group which included a five and a two year old. The restaurant was extremely busy on a Saturday evening. The servers seemed to be taking care of many other customers so there was a bit of a wait on extra drinks or water refills etc. Appetizers and food arrived in good times after ordering. The filet and shrimp with asparagus I had was fantastic. Other family members were happy with their orders as well and several of us took left overs home for another meal. Great atmosphere. Will go here again.
Florida grouper…yes, please!!! This was a spectacular dish! The crab dip was wonderful! Our waitress was super kind and very attentive but not overly attentive. The vibe of the whole building was very cools! If we ever make it back to Peoria, we will definitely dine here again!
Jonah's Seafood House in Peoria is a wonderful riverside seafood restaurant. The Oyster Bar, and Market & Bake Shop next door, are interesting places as well, but this is the crown jewel. The service was second to none, from the hostess/manager Angie, to my delightful waitress Macy. The view of the Illinois River augmented a warm but comfortably rustic setting. I started with an Espresso Martini — 360 Vanilla, Kahlua, Tia, Espresso & Cream with three delicious coffee beans on top. The cocktail was remarkably flavorful and I am a coffee martini enthusiast. For an appetizer I indulged myself and ordered a staple of any high-end seafood restaurant; Oysters Rockefeller baked in the half-shell. This traditional mainstay was absolutely perfectly cooked with the added twist of bacon. (Everything is better with bacon). The main attraction outdid it all: South African Lobster Tail with a half pound of Alaskan King Crab Legs. I’ll let the pictures speak for this dish—I LOVED IT! For dessert I had another libation — a Milk Chocolate Martini 360 Vanilla, Dark Crème De Cacao, and Cream.
